Seksun Toommai (SZACK) Graduated Bachelor degree from faculty of painting, sculpture and graphic arts, Silpakorn University in Thai Art Major, he has skill of painting, sculpture and mixed of material and about his art thesis he did sculpture from mung bean dessert called “Khanom Look Choop” because of this he start to make art from Japanese clay instead of make art from food. In 2012 after he is graduated he got the project to paint Buddha story on the wall of temple “Wat Pha Nong Song Phi Nong” in Ubonrachatani The North East part of Thailand.
During working in the temple, in everyday he got lunch meal from the villager who came to prey, make merit and give food to the monks and the monks and the monks take the food to themselves and give back to the villager, in one meal of lunch time after break from work I open food cover I saw many kind of main dish and sweet dish made from banana plant and I felt amazed with how creative and full of imagination of Thai people that they can bring all the value and benefit out from every single part of banana plant to create something so much value like food, toy, cloth, medicine, ceremony, idioms etc., and I start to think more deep about banana connected to the life of the human in the society that many time we all care about the skin cover more than value behind the skin and many time we still asking ourselves where is my value? I’m worth enough for someone? That how we start to cover the skin outside with something it’s not ourselves but something people like or expect us to be and after for awhile we loose ourselves completely because we follow too much of expectation.
