ABOUT ARTIST

After receiving a bachelor of fine arts in printmaking from Silpakorn University in 2023, Sahatsawat Lertsiri embarked on his artistic career with a focus on Lithography. His body of work explores the unconscious mind, repression, dreams and sexuality. The forms in his prints are derived from deep sea creatures and reproductive organs of plants. He compares these unusual creatures to human unconsciousness preoccupied with sexual desires. With lush surfaces, and bright neon colors, based on the lights seen in the night clubs, these alien creatures are luring and attracting others towards them. The underwater landscapes are composed of layers of humanistic shapes. Dark and mysterious, the underwater world is akin to the human minds which are complex and unknown. And these creatures representing our unrepressed thoughts are at the bottom of the deep ocean. Upon graduation, Lertsiri’s work has been included in shows including The IPC International Mini Print 2022, Taiwan, and The First International Print Online Exhibition 2022 by Graphic Arts Department, Silpakorn University, Thailand.
