Olia Fedorova is a multi-disciplinary artist born 1994 in Kharkiv, Ukraine and currently based in Graz, Austria. She works in the field of conceptual art by means of text and textile, as well as photography and video. In 2016 graduated from Kharkiv State Academy of Design in Arts with the BA degree in Interior Design. Currently studying at the MA program “Textile. Art. Design” at the Art University Linz (Austria).
After the beginning of the Russian full scale invasion in Ukraine in 2022, her displacement experience, the impact of war on a person, environment and language, as well as (women) resilience, resistance and solidarity amidst the times of crisis, became main topics of Olia’s artistic practice.
Since 2016, Olia Fedorova had more than 10 solo exhibitions in Ukraine, Austria, Poland and Italy, and took part in numerous group shows and art residencies throughout Europe, as well as in the US, Argentina, Japan, Republic of Korea and Australia. Her artworks are part of public collections of Ukrainian Museum of Contemporary art and Jeonbuk Province Museum (Republic of Korea), and private collections in Ukraine, Germany, Austria and Norway.
