Marisa Srijunpleang was born in 1993 in Surin Province, Thailand. She received a B.F.A. (Sculpture) Faculty of Architecture, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok

Srijunpleang’s work focuses on the lives of people who live along blurred national borders, particularly the Thai-Cambodian border, where she was born and raised. In her research, she is particularly interested in topics that revolve around local beliefs, marginalized history, ways of life, personal narratives, family memories, the impact of the 1975 Cambodian genocide, and the different concepts of borders that shape these communities in various dimensions. She explores these issues through many media including photography, sculpture, and video art.

In 2023, her work titled “T360174 (2023)” won a grant from Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC), Bangkok, Thailand, in an Incubating Project for Young Artists “Early Year Project #6.” In 2024 she was selected by Jim Thompson Art Center to join the Fellowship for The Alternative Art School (TASS). Srijunpleang has continuously exhibited her work through many notable shows. In 2024, Srijunpleang put together   her first solo exhibition “ผกา เดอ พลอว” or “Bloom with wind blows,” curated by Nutdanai Songsriwilai, HOP – Hub Of Photography, 3rd floor, WHOOP! Seacon Square Srinaka Bangkok, Thailand. Besides, she was featured in many notable group exhibitions such as “Good Old Neon” curated by Arin Rungjang, Nova Contemporary Bangkok, Thailand, 2024 และ “The 13th Oita Asia Sculpture Exhibition,” Oita Prefectural Art Museum, Oita, Japan, 2016
