Subtitle: The Soul of Earth, Shades of the Inner Self
[Seoul, Korea] – 333Gallery/Seoul is honored to present “The Eternal Bloom: The Soul of Earth, Shades of the Inner Self”, an exhibition showcasing the profound works of Thai artist Duenchayphoochana Phooprasert. Running from November 21 to December 30, this exhibition invites viewers into a meditative experience that explores the interplay of time, movement, and the intrinsic connection between humanity and nature, expressed through clay-based art.
“The Eternal Bloom: The Soul of Earth, Shades of the Inner Self” merges Phooprasert’s “The Move” and “The Signature of Nature” series, blending the constant motion of the earth with the subtle transformations of time. “The Move” series encapsulates the relentless, often unnoticed movement of the earth, urging viewers to remain mindful of the shifts that shape our world. “The Signature of Nature” series delves into the gradual transformation of clay, where cracks formed during the drying process act as nature’s signature, narrating the passage of time.
The exhibition design reinforces these themes, guiding visitors through color flows that symbolize natural transitions, with a rotating projector displaying footage of changing natural scenes to create a serene and meditative environment where visitors can feel the essence of nature. Visitors will also have the opportunity to engage directly by creating their own clay pieces, fostering a hands-on connection with the medium that embodies resilience and change. Additionally, seed-filled clay bowls will be provided for visitors to take home, encouraging them to extend the experience and reflect on nature’s continuous cycles.
An insight from architect Jeong Gi Yong encapsulates the philosophy of this exhibition: “What is made from the earth returns to the earth, possessing a pure death.” This notion underscores Phooprasert’s work, which celebrates the cycle of creation and return, capturing life’s fleeting yet profound essence.
“The Eternal Bloom: The Soul of Earth, Shades of the Inner Self” invites contemplation on the transient beauty of nature and the resilience embedded in human existence, calling viewers to reflect on their place within the world’s ever-moving rhythm.
